Dr Niranjan Ariyasinghe

Niranjan obtained his MBBS with honours from the Faculty of Medicine University of Colombo in 1998. He has over 20 years of experience in Dermatology. After his clinical training in Medicine and Dermatology at National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo South Teaching Hospital and the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital Colombo, in 2004 he was awarded the MD in Dermatology at which he had the best performance.  Subsequently that year he received the Stifle Fellowship to train at the National Skin Center Singapore. In 2006 and 2007 he trained as a Fellow at the Singapore General Hospital, the largest tertiary care hospital in Singapore, that is ranked amongst the world’s best hospitals. During his term at the Singapore General hospital, he received the “Service with a heart award” for outstanding clinical service rendered.

In 2018 he had training in Psychodermatology at the Royal London and Whips cross University hospital London with Prof Anthony Bewley, a pioneer in the field of mind and skin.  In 2022 /23 he trained as a fellow at Sinclair Dermatology a world-renowned center for treating hair disorders.

As a Consultant Dermatologist he practiced in public and private hospitals in Sri Lanka, going on to assume roles as the head of Dermatology of four public sector dermatology units and as the Medical Director of a Private clinic, during a span of over 15 years. He continues to serve as a visiting lecture for the postgraduate trainees in dermatology in Sri Lanka and has presented at many international conferences.

Niranjan’s interest in treating a wide range of adult and pediatric dermatological conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, vitiligo, hair disorders, autoimmune skin conditions, infections, pigmentary disorders, immunobulous dermatoses, and skin cancer.
